Can you do it all?

When it comes to the industry of designing websites, I take no hesitation in admitting that my Achilles Heel is in my role as an Information Architect (although I have been known to force my way through it with enough determination).  In fact, when it comes down to it, I’m willing to bet that there’s a lot of people like me out there - people who have skills that are more than adequate, along with needed abilities that they avoid at all costs (are you thinking of yours right now?).

Although I’ve covered this in the past, I’d like to touch on the topic again briefly, because the sociology and mechanics behind the idea fascinate me, and the relevance is fresh again.

Why didn’t I think of that?

When I launched the new version of this site yesterday, a lot of very kind people said a lot of very kind things.  I was honestly flattered at how well it had been received, and during that time, a few people expressed concern or opinions on how I presented some of my information here.  I even chatted with a few people and discovered some excellent suggestions that had me wondering to myself ”Why didn’t I think of that?”.

The answer is obvious:  I didn’t think of (insert excellent idea), because my top specialty is in the development of beautiful UI elements, and images that have character.

So now, I’ve somehow ended up with a list of minor changes to the site that I’d like to implement, based on the feedback of people I respect. Ideas that are better than my own.  See - what you say does matter to me, a great deal (you can expect a point upgrade in the near future)!

In the meantime, thanks for reading!
