Voices Carry

With the release of a new design here on antonpeck.com, I'd like to take some time to get to know my visitors a tiny bit better. This article is now here as a format for you to introduce yourselves; to allow you to take a moment to say “hello”, perhaps mention what sort of system/browser you use, or where you are from.

Past all the usability, aesthetics, architecture, and other details of creating a website, there's the element of the people who visit that reminds us all that beyond the numbers and paperwork, we are all still flesh and blood.

I strive to create work for humans, and I invite you to join me on the adventure.

So feel free to lend me your voice. Let me know that you're more than just an IP address.

I guess I will try and be the first to tell who and what I do.

I’m an old school developer (COBOL 17+ yrs), who has been doing web development for the last 5+ yrs. I have just started this year as the “Web Content Accessibility Manger” for ARMY.MIL and 40+ of it’s micro websites. I mostly use Firefox 3 on MACs, but being an accessibility person I need to test and use all kinds of platforms and browsers.

So if you have not figured it out I’m living in the Washington, DC, area in Old Town Alexandria.

Hey John! Good to see you here. You’re one of the guys I missed the most from SxSW. Hopefully I’ll get to see you next time!

Hey Anton,  I dig the new design.  I use the latest nightly build of Camino. I’m 1/8th Greek and I was born in southern california.

Hey buddy, you know the dirty details but I’ll post some specifics.

I’m a software architect for a company called MultiAd where I spend most of my days hammering away at Perl code in our custom MVC architecture. Lately we’ve been dabbling in Adobe Air and Flex, which is a very nice change of pace. I like to design, although I totally do not consider myself a designer. I bounce between Firefox and Safari, love Macs and Google. Shout-out to the Android phones across the world. HOLLA! Oh yeah, and I sit about 10 feet almost directly behind you every day.

David, if I see you sitting behind me in my home Tomorrow (Saturday), I’m going to be a little creeped out (just a little).

Thanks for commenting, gentlemen! Anyone else out there that I should hear from? I figure that there’s at least two more people who read this site.

Hey Anton,
Site looks fantasticle (not related to testicle).

After me there should be one more. :D
I think you know what I do… Design, illustration and programming. ;)

I’m using safari 4 beta almost exclusively these days unless I’m working in VMware ala Ubuntu 9.04 in which case it’s firefox.  Rarely do I ever use the iphone for website except for gmail access.

Woo hoo! First girl to reply! ;-)

I’m a front end development type. I love (X)HTML + CSSing designs that other people have poured their blood and sweat into.

I use Firefox for dev and browsing, except I dislike how slow it has become. I tried using Safari to browse but realized, I don’t casually browse as much as I used to. I reach for Firebug to look at the guts too often to use something else to browse.

I love the redesign more than words can say. :)

Helen here from the UK in an attempt to be waving not drowing! I have homeschooled my two teenage sons for twelve years and they have just landed uni places so I have been looking around the net for information so I can both help and keep up with them both on their journey into the whole games and web development art world. Love your site and your artwork is awesome, totally inspiring and given me some insight tonight, thank you :) ( The link I have included takes you to one of my son’s stop motion animation clips on youtube )
