No Comment Revisited

So far, I’ve received a surprising amount of feedback on my reasoning for disabling comments here.  And I have to be honest, I was a little surprised at the reaction.  Although many of the people I heard from respected my reasoning, they expressed disappointment over the change.

This led me to consider my thesis carefully, eventually helping me to find the one tiny, but important flaw in my reasoning - that the conditions surrounding every site, and its audience, are truly unique to that site.  In other words, what works for some, will not work for others, even though the logic remains sound, it simply loses it’s application.

So, here’s how it’s going to work:  Comments are going to get turned back on for most entries, but I will still choose to disable comments for those articles that I deem appropriate to a more inter-web friendly discussion.

Hey, a girl can change her mind!
