Messages from the Outside World

Last year, when I wrote “Messages from Austin”, I invited all of the people who were attending SXSW to call my Google Voice number and leave a message for me. The intent was that I would post my favorites online, and that it would give me a chance to hear the voices of the people I miss (or have never met).

This year, I’d like to continue the tradition. But rather than limit it to people who are only in Texas, I want everyone to know that they are welcome to say hello! This isn’t with the intent of collecting anyone’s phone numbers or anything like that, I just enjoy hearing people’s voices. A fun little experiment, if you will.

So… tell me a joke, sing me a song, what you do, what you’re interested in, I want to know all about you. I won’t post your message if you tell me not to, and I’ll keep any secrets that you want to share.

With all that said, the choice is yours. Do what you will with it.

p.s. I do not have any invitations to Google Voice, so please don’t ask for one.

Please do not take offense when I say, You should really stick to back end work, or become a doctor or lawyer, maybe finance.  Your artistic ability in drawing and digital painting/drawing is humorous.  Everyone and there mother thinks they can draw and paint well now, this is not true.

Robert, or whoever you are, I’m going to leave your comment here because it amuses me.

Artistic creativity is what I love to do, regardless of what people’s opinions are of how effective I am at it. Suggesting that I do things that I have little to know knowledge of is probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a long time.

Please take your opinions and shove them right up your smug little ass.

Robert,

Please don’t take offense to this. Under the same logic you just used, I really think you should stick to never speaking or otherwise communicating with other people. Your ability to express your opinions without looking like a total douchebag is humorous.

Dear Robert,

You aren’t doing yourself any favors by criticizing someone’s creative ability using bad grammar. There is a big difference between the words “there” and “their.” Honestly, everyone and their grandmother thinks they can write well, this is not true.

By the way, next time you want to take a cheap shot at someone, how about providing a real URL? Then maybe we could take a look at what you’ve got to contribute. Or is it that you don’t have anything to contribute apart from verbal diarrhea? Coward.

Sincerely,
Ara
