A Robot Announcement
If it’s not apparent by now, I love robots. So much, in fact, that I jumped feet-first into an adventure of creating one hundred of them. Not actual robots of course, but illustrated ones, on 4" by 6" standard note cards. There’s a more in-depth introduction here, if you need the details. Take your time, come back when your ready (I promise that I’ll wait).
an indeterminate amount of time passes…
Ah, you’re back already? Good! Good! Because I have some great news that I can’t wait to share with you! You see, I happen to know that there will be a rare and valuable one hundred and first robot that will not be available for sale. Indeed, I have decided that the particular creation will be absolutely, and completely free!
“Good grief man, You must be insane!” I can hear some of you asking. Yes, well… that is certainly plausible, but obviously for other reasons than this. In this particular matter, you can trust that I know exactly what it is that I intend to do.
Please, allow me to explain further.
As a thank-you to those who have purchased my robots so far, they are automatically entered to win this new robot illustration. Also, all new purchases (up to May 1st) are also qualified to win. The more robots you own, the more odds you have of winning number 101. It’s pretty straight-forward, currently the odds of winning are 1 in 35. Somebody will definitely win, that’s for sure.
When will the winner be chosen?
The winning number will be recorded on video (and done old-school, with proper dice), with all of the sales up to and including 12am (Central Standard Time) April 30th of this year. The announcement will likely be made during the second week of May (I will be out of town during the first week). This means that as long as you adopt your robot before then, you will be automatically qualified. Any purchases made on May 1st or later will not be able to win the 101st robot.
So tell me more about this rare 101 model!
The 101st robot will be hand-illustrated (like the others) on a premium-quality 11" x 14" bristol board (not like the others). I will likely post scans of it as progress continues. At any rate, the size and paper quality will be significantly higher than the robots that I am sending out now.
How do I enter to win, again?
Remember, if you have already bought a robot, you are already entered. If you have not bought a robot and were thinking about it, then make your purchase before May 1st of this year to be qualified. That’s all there is to it!
If you have any questions, feel free to send an email to anton @ antonpeck.com.
Finally, to all of you who have already adopted a robot – Thank you! The support you show for my work, even the kind words you share, are what inspire me to continue. I love you guys.
