2010 Goals

Resolutions! A word that conveys a sense of newness, each time we reach the end of December. A word that implies that we will resolve something in our lives that needs some kind of attention. A word that I don't really want to use this time around.

I decided to write up some goals instead. A few random things that might not mean anything to you, but at least allow me to declare where I would like to be in 2010.

Ready? Let's go! Please note, these are in no particular order.

  1. Really need to lose some weight. A lot of weight.
  2. Can (and will) publish a book of illustration and/or a graphic novel (stemmed from some old ideas).
  3. Dust off and re-string the guitars. Music is a good hobby to have, and I've let mine laps a little too much.
  4. Take time to visit good friends, even those out of town (thinking of my buddy Keith in Chicago).
  5. Continue appreciating my family every day that I live (not that I need reminding, but it's something I'm very proud of).
  6. To rekindle the video art tutorials. This is already in the works, and I know a few people that miss the old Artcast.
  7. To contribute 1 new artwork or blog post per week, per Project52.
  8. Attend at least 1 conference or event in 2010.
  9. To donate more to charity.

Granted, this is a short list. But it covers some things that are very important to me. What sort of goals do you have?

Great to see I’m not the only one trying to do more in the new year.

Looking forward to seeing how you, me, and others get to publishing a blog post every week for a year. Can you believe how many people signed up to do that. I figure a hundred or so at the outside. I think you are well over 400 last I looked.

If you are thinking of attending An Event Apart here is DC as your one conference this year, you are more than welcome to use my spare bedroom or both bedrooms if you want to bring the family. If all else fails I have slept on my sofa a few to many times when people are in.

Have a great new year and we need to talk sometime soon.
